Hotfix Rollup 3 for Exchange Breaks PDF attachments

Update - July 13, 2011

Microsoft has released Hotfix Rollup 4 for 2007 SP3.  This update resolves the issue noted below and now allows inline PDF content from mac-based machines to render properly as attachments in Outlook.

An update from Microsoft Exchange breaks PDF attachments sent from MAC users...

Microsoft released several updates in RU3 for Microsoft Exchange 2007 which prevents some attachments from being viewed from within the Outlook email client.  The problem occurs due to the way inline content is natively suipported on the MAC, but not on the PC (specifically for Adobe PDF's and some TIFF files). When a user receives such an email, they will see no attachments whatsoever, although there may be references to them in the message contents.  Temporarily, you can try forwarding the email to a Non-Exchange based account (such as GMAIL), making the attachments visible again.  Microsoft is aware of the problem and is working on a hotfix for public distribution.
